On the road: Transport for London Event
Next week, we will be attending a Transport for London event which discusses the implications that coach operators are experiencing with London’s Low Emission Zone. The LEZ was initially launched in 2008, and operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, to encourage the most polluting heavy diesel vehicles in Greater London to become cleaner.
As there will be further changes enforced on 26 October 2020, these events help ensure that Excalibre Technologies are one step ahead of emissions control developments across the country.
From 26 October 2020, the new LEZ standards will be:
• Euro VI for buses and coaches over 5 tonnes – this is the same as the ULEZ standard (these vehicles will no longer need to pay a separate ULEZ charge)
• Euro 3 for PM for larger vans and minibuses – this is the same as the current LEZ standard.
In addition to the tighter LEZ coming into force in 2020, an expansion of the Ultra Low Emission Zone is expected in 2021.
The event will be held in the Ground Floor Conference Room at Palestra, 197 Blackfriars Road, London, SE1 8NJ.
