Now, more than ever, it is vital to ensure your diesel vehicle complies with emission levels and avoids costly fines. London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding this year along with new Low Emission Zones (LEZ) or Clean Air Zones (CAZ) across the UK.
How is the London ULEZ expanding?
On 25th October 2021, London’s ULEZ boundary will expand up to, but not including, the North Circular Road (A406) and the South Circular Road (A205).
The ULEZ charges a daily fee to any vehicle not complying with minimum emissions levels. In the case of medium and large vehicles, that charge is £100 per day on top of the congestion charge zone costs. That includes LGV’s, RCV’s, Tipper Trucks and Motorised Horseboxes.

Where are the low emission zones (LEZ) across the UK?
Bath’s CAZ is now operational, with several cities planned to follow. Amongst many other cities, Birmingham is due to begin it’s CAZ on 1 June 2021 which will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. A diesel vehicle must have a minimum standard of EURO VI. Oxford’s Zero Emission Zone is planned to run from Summer 2021. Bristol is proposed to start from October 2021. Several cities in Scotland have delayed LEZ’s until 2022.
