Bus and Truck DPF Cleaning
Excalibre have invested in high technology cleaning and test equipment specifically for DPF’s fitted to Euro 6 vehicles. The FSX cleaning centre is identical to that used by all of the major engine OEM’s. The cleaning process, testing and reporting is to the same standard.
Over time ash accumulates in the DPF and this needs to be removed to maintain the effective volume of the part and minimise exhaust back pressure. Low load operation can also cause the DPF to become blocked with soot that cannot be removed by the vehicles active regen system. The FSX process effectively removes both ash and soot.
The Cleaning Process
All DPF’s received at Excalibre are given a unique identification number and are then flow tested. The individual cells are also checked for depth and open channel width.
The pneumatic cleaning process effectively removes accumulated ash and soot from the DPF. Each DPF is then flow tested and cell checked.
The data is stored on a database and is contained in the cleaning record that accompanies every cleaned DPF. If the clean is unsuccessful then an additional thermal process is undertaken followed by a second pneumatic process.
We maintain a database of DPF flow baselines enabling us to ensure cleaned units are at or close to the baseline of a new ones.

We also offer a managed service option for large fleets. Float units are held by Excalibre and used to provide a service exchange option offering the following benefits:
